Our field mapping page allows you to create an accurate boundary following base maps from Google and OpenStreetMaps.
In order to create your maps select the Draw New Field Boundary box in the Field Details screen -
Note - You can access this screen by clicking on any of the field tiles on the Fields tab.
Once loaded, you will be presented with the following screen -
1 - Zoom in (+) or Out (-) on the map.
2 - Draw Polygons (boundaries).
3 - Edit/Erase your boundary.
4 - Existing field boundaries (in Blue)
5 - Map layer picker.
6 - OK (Save) & Cancel (Exit without saving)
To start, select the map layer you wish to use. You can currently choose between OpenStreetMaps, Google Maps or Google Satellite -
Once selected, click the Draw Polygons button and place the first point on the map, at the edge of your field boundary -
Clicking Finish after placing at least 3 points will close the polygon and complete your field automatically.
Should you need to remove a point, click Remove Last Vertex.
Should you need to Cancel, click Cancel.
Be aware that points will automatically snap to existing boundaries at higher levels.
Any points that need adjusting can be edited in the next step.
Click each point, roughly round the edge of your field. and then select the Edit button.
The white points that now show and allow you to click and drag your boundary to fit.
Solid white ones are main points, transparent ones will allow you to adjust between points, creating extra angles in the boundary resulting in a more accurate outline -
Click Finish next to the Edit button to confirm the outline, click OK and then click OK again in the confirmation pop up -
An outline of your boundary will now show in the field details screen. Ensure that you click Save on this screen to save any edits made -
To delete an unwanted boundary, click the Delete button and click on the boundary in green -
As before, click OK and then click OK again in the confirmation pop up to save your changes.
